PackPlus 2016 flooded with 17136 visitors at New Delhi

30 percent bigger show attracts 30 percent more visitors
It was not only pouring rain at Delhi but also pouring visitors at PackPlus’ ninth edition that recorded a footfall of 17136. The event happened at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 27 – 30 July, 2016.

packPlus long fotorOver 325 exhibitors including International and foreign companies rubbing shoulders with domestic giants and start-ups had an element of interest for every visitor.  The more than 200 running machines of different applications and several innovations and product launches had the veteran attendees also riveted.

Leading players in all the traditional segments reported strong inquiries and the unprecedented deals. Ishida India (P) Ltd., Nichrome, Bosch, Hayssen Flexible Systems, Uflex Limited, Hilda Automation, Parle Global and many others confirmed response. Pelican, Uflex, SP Ultraflex, Expert, Sudha and others were flush with enquiries. Kody and C Trivedi and company reported closing several on venue sales.

Other leading companies those showcased latest innovations in the industry included AKR Machinery, Autoprint Machinery Manufacturers Pvt Ltd., Decorative Sleeves, EATON Global Link Impex, Kalpvrux Convert

Visitors got an opportunity to experience the running machines and have one-on-one interaction with the representatives from international companies like Beijing Weiermake Electronic Technology Co. The Automation Industry Association (AIA) knowledge pavilion focusing on Packaging 4.0 was a special attraction. Packaging machines being a vital part of the production process in the consumer goods industry are being automated smartly and are capable of resolving break downs accurately and faster. It represented the shift towards new wave automation technologies that provided clear diagnostic and remedial strategies, highlighting the Next Generation Automation, Flexible Packaging, Open & Smart HMI, Integrated & Vision Guided Robotics and Vision System for Quality.

In the background of the booming Carton Converting business, the debut of CaronTech was greeted with enthusiasm by the visitors. As a result, Zhongke India, Autoprint, APL Machinery, Sodhisons, Ample Graphics and Xhuai India were among the busiest stands and also generated serious inquiries and business. HP had unique presentations for the Brand Owners on setting new standards for their brands with the use of Digital Printing.

SupplyPlus featured distribution, warehousing, bulk pack, logistics & AIDC and was visited by supply chain, logistics and distribution professionals from the processed food, agro-produce, pharmaceuticals, personal care, FMCG, household durables, modern retail and other industries. Companies like Star Flex International, Shiv Engineering, Ferreterro India (P) Ltd., Leap India, NilkamalBito Storage Systems (P) Ltd., Nilkamal Ltd. Nitta Corporation India (P) Ltd. and Toshi Automatic Systems (P) Ltd. presented their products at the Show.

The Packaging Product Pavilion occupied the entire Hall no12 and was expectedly looking the most vibrant with arrays of packages ranging from labels, decorative sleeves, tin containers, cartons and other specialised products. Ajanta Print Arts, A & A Labels, Anil Agencies (P) Ltd., Any Graphics, Flexituff International Limited, Glisten Tins, Pragati Pack, Pearl Polymers et al. were pleased with the large presence of the brand owners. The Flexible Packaging Converting machinery suppliers, without exception, were busy attending to the steady flow of converters.

“We have been exhibiting from past nine years and thought the show was at its peak last year when we saw humongous number of visitors inquiring but this year it had been even better as we got more active queries which we are sure we would turn into deals. We look forward to PackPlus’17 and believe that it will bring even more opportunities to us,” said Sofiya Sheikh from Hilda Automation.

“PackPlus is a platform where one not only gets to see the latest technology from across the world but also gets to network with people from the packaging industry. We never miss a single edition as the show has always been very beneficial for us,” said Rajesh Lalwani, a visitor from Pioneer Packers, New Delhi.

On the third day of the Show, International Packaging Conclave took place with the theme-Print Optimisation & Colour Management for Flexible Packaging.  20+ experts from the industry came together for a daylong session where more than 200 delegates including Brand Owners, Package Converters, Packaging Technologists, Procurement Professionals, Print Specialists, QA, Managers, Pre‐Press & Media Professionals, Designers, Material &Equipment Suppliers and Consultants attended. The programme was produced in partnership with leading industry players including Windmoller  & Holscher, Dupont, Kodak, Siegwerks, Esko Graphics and Xrite.

“It was a good insight on print optimisation and colour management. Many new technologies which are yet to come to India and we aren’t aware about were discussed on this platform. If in future we want to set up these technologies, we have an insight about it and hence it also becomes a roadmap for us,” said Shweta Uppal, delegate from Jindal Poly Films.

“The show has been growing over 30 percent year-on-year, since our return to Pragati Maidan in 2014. We expect the trend to continue next year and will have the coming edition spread over Hall 8 to 12 A in a gross area of over 16000 Sqm” revealed Neetu Arora, Director, Print-Packaging.com (P) Ltd., the organisers of the Show.

PackPlus 2017 will be held from 3-6 August, 2017 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
