Manjushree Technopack, a leading PET bottle & preform manufacturer, is looking at consolidating its global operations by setting up its first office in the Middle- East following new business opportunities emerging in the industry landscape. The company is already exporting to the Gulf region, Thailand and Africa.
Another expansion at Manjushree is the commissioning of its single-largest PET preform manufacturing plant in South Asia, boosting the company’s total capacity from 50,000 MTPA to 80,000 MTPA – which is equivalent to 15% of the total PET consumption in India. The plant is also one of the very few green factories in India.
The company had committed investments of Rs 150 crore followed with two new green-field facilities in Harohalli and Bidadi. “The Bidadi facility commissioned during the year 2012-13,” said Vimal Kedia, Managing Director, Manjushree Technopack.
“The commissioning of the state-of-the-art production facility has greatly enhanced our capabilities, particularly in the rapidly-growing PET preform segment. In addition to the significant increase in capacity, the level of automation that we have adopted in the new facility is also expected to improve efficiencies and reduce manpower costs,” he added.
The company manufactures plastic packaging products for domestic / export markets and caters to the needs of leading companies in the FMCG, food & beverage sectors; including the likes of Coca Cola, PepsiCo, GSK, Nestle, Unilever, Del Monte, Tata Tea and Mondelez International. Lately the company has forayed into new segments like dairy and edible oil.
Manjushree Technopack is known for a variety of rigid plastic packaging solutions, including PET, PP, multilayer-barrier containers and PET preforms that utilise best-in-class technology from Europe, Japan and Canada. Recently it installed four advanced preform manufacturing systems and four blow-moulding machines that manufactures PET bottles for the beverage and bottled water industries.
