Print CEOs from Jammu and Kashmir region were given a lowdown on the benefit of cluster philosophy at a technical seminar hosted by All India Federation of Master Printers which also provided information on the schemes of Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
The seminar was co-hosted by Jammu Printers’ Association and J&K Offset Printers’ with Pankaj Sethi, Chairman of SSI/MSME at AIFMP, initiating the proceedings which saw more than 125 printers from Jammu and Udhampur in attendance.
Kamal Chopra, Chairman, International Relations, AIFMP, who made a presentation at the seminar on credit linked capital subsidy scheme (CLCSS) and MSME cluster development programme, believes that the cluster approach could hold the key to a better print business. “There is a dire need of cluster at Jammu which is the city of micro printers and by forming the cluster not only can they increase their capability but also avail up to 90% subsidy from the Government of India.”
The event also saw printers from Jammu, who visited print technology exhibition at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, last August under the banner of AIFMP, receive cheques for being part of the delegation.
Ashwani Gupta, honorary treasurer AIFMP and Varinder Sharma, director, MSME DI, Jammu, gave the cheques to Arun Art Press; Dayal Printers; C K Printers & Publishers; Mahajan Packaging Industry; Dee Dee Packaging Industry; S K Printers and S K Printing Press.
AIFMP had received the grant-in-aid of Rs 9,00,397 from the MSME to be distributed to 45 delegates who visited Malaysia. Printers from Sivakasi and Noida have already received their cheques. This was the last in the series.
