Unique Photo Offset Services (UPOS), the Mumbai-based pre-press house which long ago ventured into the packaging market has installed a brand-new Omet XFlex X4 narrow web flexo press to cater to the label printing business.
The first one being a 8 Color Flexy S fully loaded press. Omet press is the second installation at UPOS.
Unique who has been one of the leaders in pre-press now offers all three printing processes – flexography offset and digital-outdoor , provides its customers with the most complicated labels, sleeves and other roll to roll packaging material of excellent printing quality on all types of substrates.
“In 2006 we bought the first Omet Flexy S press and since then we have had satisfactory results. We wanted a second press for some time and when the new XFlex X4 was launched at Label Expo 2011 we took the opportunity to purchase one of the latest presses in the market,” said Gautam Nerker, Director, UPOS.
“The configuration of the machine includes corona treater device, eight-UV printing units, de-/ re-lamination unit, web turn bar and cold foil unit. Omet XFlex X4, UPOS has also invested in a refurbished Komori Lithrone four-colour sheetfed offset press which caters to commercial and label printing”, said Nerker.
“From our pre-press experience it was natural that Unique also enters Offset Printing. Also, we got enquiries for the labels which could be printed on sheetfed offset press, so we decided to invest in an offset press and also cater to the commercial and packaging segment,” he stated.
A pre-press house that has traditionally served the best creative minds of Mumbai’s advertising and publishing industry has grown and evolved to keep up with the times and the changing technology.
