A one-day International Technology Conference was organized on December 10 at Hall No. 2. The conference kicked off with the keynote address by Manoj Mehta, director, Manipal Utility Packaging Solutions Pvt Ltd and past president AIFMP.
The day was divided into three sessions. The first session saw three different presentations – Inkjet digital and Indigo by AppaDurai, country manager – Indigo & Inkjet Solutions, HP; Global colour management packaging by Steve Smiley, chairman of Print Properties US; and Inline converting with multiple printing technologies by Paolo Grasso, export area manager for OMET &HarveerSahani, MD, Weldon Celloplast Ltd.
The second session witnessed a drupa 2016 short film presentation, followed by a presentation on LED UV by VinayKaushal, director, ProvinTechnosPvt Ltd; Unlimited possibilities beyond printing by JigishBipinChiniwala, MD, Condot Systems Pvt Ltd; and a presentation on National Centre for Flexible Electronics by AshutoshTripathi, team leader, National Centre for Flexible Electronics, IIT Kanpur.
The third session kicked off with a keynote address by Prof (Dr) NC Saha, director, Indian Institute of Packaging. There was a panel discussion on ‘Make in India,’ moderated by FaheemAgboatwala, MD of Hi-Tech Printing Services, president, BMPA. The panelists included CG Ramakrishnan, ED & COO, TechNova Imaging Systems Ltd; CN Ashok, MD, Autoprint Machinery MfrsPvt Ltd; Mehul A Desai, founder & chairman, Regency Group Mail Order Solutions Pvt Ltd; CP Paul, CMD, APL Machinery P Ltd; SajithPallippuram, director, Welbound and HT Hirpara, GM, Line O Matic.
Another panel discussion on ‘Make in India 2 – global outlook’ was moderated by BS Kampani, CEO & MD, Toyo Ink India. The panelists included MukulGhanekar, head SPL, Bobst; Samir Gulve, sr. VP of Engineering and MD of India – EFI and Ajay Agarwal, MD & CEO, Insight Communications.
