Flexo Summit Asia 2026 concluded on 6 August at Hilton Bengaluru, bringing together leaders, technology experts, printers, converters, brand owners, and other key stakeholders from across the flexographic printing and packaging industry.
Held on 5–6 August 2026, the two-day summit brought together 340 printers, converters and brand owners, 60+ speakers, 30+ partners and 18+ knowledge-led sessions, creating a focused platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration across the flexographic value chain.
Built around the theme “FLEXO NEXT – Thinking Beyond Print,” the 2026 edition moved beyond conventional conversations around print to examine the larger forces shaping the future of flexography, including process excellence, automation, sustainability, standardisation, coatings, operational efficiency and workforce development.
A special moment at the summit was the presentation of the Flexo Icon Award to Vijay Mehta of Mehta Flex, recognising his longstanding contribution, leadership and influence within the flexographic printing industry. Introduced as a continuing initiative of Flexo Summit Asia, the Flexo Icon Award will return in future editions to recognise individuals whose work, knowledge and leadership have made a lasting contribution to the growth of flexography.
Day 1 Brings a Global Perspective to Flexo
Among the major highlights of Day 1 was “Global Flexo Pulse: Insights from FTA Leaders Across Regions,” a panel that brought together representatives of the flexographic community from Europe, Indonesia, South Asia and the Middle East & Africa.
The panel featured Sante Conselvan, President, FTA Global Alliance and FTA Europe; Mustafa Kemal Bağdatlı, FTA Europe; Eric Oh, FTA Indonesia; Suhas Kulkarni, FTA Global Alliance, South Asia; and Benjamin Daniel, FTA Global Alliance, MEA, moderated by Hersh Lulla, Marketing Manager, Asia Pacific Region, Miraclon.
The session offered a cross-regional view of the flexographic industry, bringing perspectives from different markets onto a common platform. The discussion explored how flexography is evolving across regions, the opportunities and challenges facing individual markets, and the importance of greater knowledge exchange and cooperation within the global flexo community.
By bringing FTA leaders representing multiple geographies together on one stage, Global Flexo Pulse reinforced the summit’s broader objective of connecting the Indian flexographic industry with developments, experiences and perspectives from around the world.
Day 2 Goes Deeper with the 6 Sigma of Flexo
Day 2 shifted the focus towards deeper technical learning, with the 6 Sigma of Flexo Masterclass emerging as one of the key programme highlights.
Designed as an application-focused learning experience, the masterclass examined the interconnected variables influencing quality, consistency, productivity and efficiency in flexographic printing.
Rather than looking at individual stages of production in isolation, the masterclass encouraged participants to approach flexography as an integrated process, where control over each variable contributes to the predictability and repeatability of the final result.
Measurement, process control, standardisation and informed decision-making formed an important part of the conversation, with the session demonstrating how greater process discipline can help reduce variation and improve performance on press.
The masterclass reflected the summit’s larger objective of moving the industry conversation beyond what technology can do towards how technology, process knowledge and human expertise can be brought together more effectively.
Brand Owners Put Sustainability on the Table
Another distinctive element of Flexo Summit Asia 2026 was an exclusive brand owners-only session dedicated to sustainability, providing a closed-door environment for focused conversations among those shaping packaging requirements and sustainability priorities.
The session enabled brand representatives to exchange perspectives on changing sustainability expectations and the practical challenges involved in translating commitments into packaging decisions that are scalable, functional and commercially viable.
The discussion also highlighted the need for stronger alignment between brands and the wider packaging ecosystem. From material selection and print performance to recyclability and functionality, achieving meaningful progress increasingly requires collaboration between brand owners, converters, printers, material suppliers and technology providers.
By creating a dedicated space for the brand perspective, the summit connected sustainability ambitions with the production and commercial realities of the packaging value chain.
One Platform, One Flexo Ecosystem
Beyond the individual sessions, a defining outcome of Flexo Summit Asia 2026 was the interaction it enabled across different parts of the flexographic ecosystem.
Printers and converters engaged directly with equipment manufacturers, prepress specialists, ink and coating experts, material suppliers, technology providers, brand owners and industry leaders.
Presentations, panel discussions, masterclasses and networking across the two days created opportunities to exchange experiences, challenge established practices and explore solutions to shared industry concerns.
The conversations continued beyond the conference stage, with interactions throughout the summit creating opportunities for new connections and continued knowledge exchange.
Commenting on the conclusion of the edition, Anil Arora, Director, ReEnvision Events Pvt. Ltd., said:
“Flexography is evolving rapidly, and no single part of the value chain can drive that transformation alone. Flexo Summit Asia was created to bring the entire ecosystem into one room, encourage open conversations and enable the industry to learn from each other. What stood out in Bengaluru was the willingness to share knowledge, discuss challenges honestly and collaborate on what comes next. That is exactly the kind of industry dialogue we want this platform to continue building.”
The Next Chapter: FLEXO 5.0 – Human Expertise, AI Intelligence
As the 2026 edition concluded, Flexo Summit Asia also unveiled the direction for its next chapter: “FLEXO 5.0 – Human Expertise, AI Intelligence.”
The next edition will explore the evolving intersection between human expertise and intelligent technology as artificial intelligence, automation, data and connected production systems become increasingly relevant to printing and packaging.
FLEXO 5.0 will examine how these technologies can complement the knowledge, judgement and experience of people across the flexographic value chain, rather than viewing technology and human expertise as competing forces.
